Company Vision

adt’s founders vision is the development and commercialisation of reflective display products (“sunlight readable display”) for public display applications based on a proprietary display technology called Droplet Driven Display – Technology. The unique characteristic of this display technology is the use of real coloured liquids to create visual content and coloors.

Such a display will be able to imitate the “mode of operation” of a paper-based printed product (subtractive color model using CMY) i.e. visibility and full color properties are similar to a printed piece of paper.

Droplet Driven Display products offer even more benefits which are in line with customers needs: full bi-stability and therefore extreme power-saving options (”zero-power displays”), high design and application variability (for in- and outdoor use) as well as excellent optical and colour properties at a competitive cost level.

To realize its vision the adt is following a 3-phase company development route:

Starting Phase
Realise Droplet Driven Display Technology, prove feasibility & reliability of Electrowetting Display products by key customers with innovative applications or new/updated products which are looking for simple reflective display technology/products or unique display properties

Expansion Phase
Gain volume applications for adt’s displays in line with ramping up the production capacities for low content displays. Establish financing / production partners as well as license agreements (for complex or large scale or large volume products)

Exploitation Phase
Win licensees / partners with special needs and / or strategic, technology or product gaps like:
LCD-Display Manufacturers looking for new technologies that can be married with existing technologies and production equipment (electrowetting displays are showing a high homology with established LCD production processes). In addition win industry partners with special display needs (e.g. billboard manufacturer).

adt’s business concept is focusing on the development and production of the “liquid layer” of its displays and producing low volume / low size display products. All other applications / products will ultimately be licensed to third parties.
